Mike Furlong’s Tribute to Tom Petty

Michael Furlong’s background in the music business is a very extensive one.  He has been an accomplished performing musician throughout his life.  Michael is a lead vocalist, lead guitar player, songwriter, studio and live audio engineer, audio and video producer.

During his performing career he has appeared coast to coast in the US and Canada, Japan, Guam, and Hawaii.

His “ Tribute to Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers”, formerly known as “Petty Theft”, has been appearing in casinos throughout the country as well as fairs and festivals nationally since 1990.  Tom Petty himself made mention of Michael’ show in a 1996 Rolling Stone Magazine interview, on the internationally syndicated radio show “Rock Line” and on “MTV’s Top 20 Countdown”.  It was then that Tom Petty learned of Michael’s tribute to him and his music.

His  Tribute to Tom Petty performed in 2008 at Disneyworld Florida’s Epcot Center with Tom Petty’s written permission and blessings.  He has performed at more than 200 casinos, fairs and festivals throughout the US.

Like a Rock – Tribute to Bob Seger

Bob Seger’s unadorned, working-class songs and wistful, raspy vocal style reflect his Michigan roots and affection for rock and roll. Seger received national acclaim in 1976 with the album “Night Moves”, which was a sentimental journey back to his adolescent dating experiences. Seger had been touring and recording since 1963 and was already popular in his native Michigan when he met with long awaited recognition. Between 1976 and 1984, Seger had 14 singles in the United States and was dubbed the “Godfather” of no-frills rock music! “Like a Rock” featuring Terry Jayo, brings you that no-frills rock music with his dynamic stage presence and exceptional vocals, while the group itself possesses a similar straight forward style that emulates the explosive sounds of Bob Seger.
